Dandruff begone!

Your hair and you should be concerned about dandruff!

When it comes to your hair, there’s always too much to think about. Whether it’s too greasy, too dry, managing curls or straight hair. Then, of course, there’s always the issue of dandruff amongst some.

Dandruff is a common condition that affects the scalp. It causes the scalp to itch followed by flakes of dead skin. It’s very difficult to miss the white flakes on your scalp or on your shoulder especially when you wear dark clothes and this could affect your confidence.

So, here are some natural ways to get rid of dandruff:

Lemongrass oil

Lemongrass oil has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that may help to reduce dandruff.

Tip: Dilute lemongrass oil with water or mix a few drops into your shampoo or conditioner.

Aloe vera

Aloe vera is a plant known for its medicinal properties. Aloe vera helps to reduce dryness of the scalp, which is one of the many causes of dandruff.

Tip: Simply scrape the aloe vera pulp, blend it until smooth and apply it on your hair.

Baking soda

Baking soda is an excellent exfoliant. Baking soda has a high pH level that makes it effective for removing dry skin from the scalp. It also has antifungal properties that help to fight the fungus responsible for dandruff.

Tip: Add one or two tablespoons to a cup of lukewarm water, mix it well and apply it onto your scalp. Leave it for a minute or two before washing. Though do take note that too much baking soda can strip the natural oil from your hair and cause dryness or scalp irritation.
