There’s no easier way to prepare a meal from scratch than roll-ups! Roll-ups are the ultimate go-to food when you’re on a tight schedule and can’t seem to find time to whip yourself and your family a wholesome meal. Plus, they go great with any party too!

The filling combinations are endless. So, feel free to experiment with different fillings you would love. Be sure to make a double batch of these pinwheels or whatever you’re experimenting on because we know you would be craving for more once you’ve tried out these recipes below. 

For that reason, roll your sleeves up and get ready to stock your kitchen with the ingredients below to make these scrumptious roll-ups!

Salmon and cream cheese

Ingredients:

2 Large tortillas

2 cups Fresh spinach, rinsed

4 Slices of smoked salmon            

1 Cucumber, thinly sliced

¼ cup Cream cheese

½ tsp Dill, finely chopped

½ tsp Garlic powder

½ Red onion, thinly sliced

Salt and pepper (optional)

  

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, finely chopped dill and garlic powder. 
  2. Mix until blended well. 
  3. Next, spread the tortilla on a flat surface and spread a thin layer of the cream mixture. 
  4. Place a few slices of smoked salmon followed by fresh spinach, thinly sliced cucumbers and onions. 
  5. Make sure that you cover the width of the tortilla with the fillings. This way all the roll-ups have even slices of each ingredient. 
  6. Once done, roll the tortilla tightly and cut it into desired slices or about 1 inches thick. 
  7. Enjoy immediately and store some in the refrigerator for later.

Roll-up tips: The secret to achieving the perfect roll-up is ensuring you do not overfill the tortilla with ingredients. This will help the fillings to rest safely within the tortilla.

Ham and cheese

Ingredients:

2 Large tortillas

4 Cheddar cheese, sliced

4 Turkey ham, sliced thinly (Or ham of your choice)

1 Green capsicum, thinly sliced

¼ cup   Cream cheese, softened

¼ cup    Mayonnaise

½ tsp    Dill, finely chopped

½tsp     Garlic powder

½ tsp    Onion powder

Salt and pepper (optional)

  

Method

  1. In a medium bowl,combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise, finely chopped dill, garlic and onion powder. 
  2. Mix until blended well. 
  3. Spread the tortilla on a flat surface and spread a thin layer of the cream mixture. 
  4. Towards the bottom of the tortilla, place a few slices of deli ham and on top of it layer the cheese to cover the width of the tortilla. (This ensures that each roll-up has even slices of ham and cheese.) 
  5. Next place the thinly sliced capscium. 
  6. Once done, roll the tortilla tightly and cut it into desired slices or about an inches thick. 
  7. Enjoy immediately or put in an air-tight container and store it in the refrigerator if you prefer to have cold roll-ups, which are delicious too!
